“Issues in Black Lung Benefits Law” CLE on March 21, 2015 Hosted by Appalachian Citizens’ Law Center
On March 21, 2015 at 10:00 a.m., Appalachian Citizens’ Law Center (the publisher of this blog) is hosting an event called “Issues in Black Lung Benefits Law” in Hazard, KY.
This year’s event will include four experts talking about a range of issues in black lung benefits litigation.
The speakers and their topics will be:
- Judge John M. Rogers (U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit) – “Handling Appellate Court Review of Administrative Agency Determinations in the Electronic Environment”
- Dr. Lee Petsonk (WVU School of Medicine) – “Lung Disease Caused by Coal Mine Dust Exposure – An Overview and Recent Developments”
- Roger Belcher (U.S. Department of Labor) – “Developments at the Division of Coal Mine Workers’ Compensation Programs”
- John Cline (black lung claimant’s attorney) – “Where is the Line? Attorney Work Product and Fox v. Elk Run Coal Company“
This event is open to the public and will include lunch. The $50 registration fee is waived for coal miners and their families.
Appalachian Citizens’ Law Center is seeking 4 hours of continuing legal education (CLE) credits (including 1 hour of ethics credits) from the Kentucky Bar Association’s Continuing Legal Education Commission.
