Tennessee News Program Features Miner Whose Black Lung Claim Was Denied

Yesterday, a news program from Knoxville, Tennessee’s WATE featured a miner named Leo Strunk whose claim for black lung benefits has been denied.  The compelling story titled “Black Lung Benefits Again Rejected for Former Scott County Miner” demonstrates the challenges that many miners face proving their eligibility for federal black lung benefits.

The story is a follow up to a story from May 2014.

The ALJ’s decision denying Mr. Strunk’s claim is available here.

Best of luck to Mr. Strunk and his attorney as they continue his fight for his black lung benefits.
